Move Splash Money data from Mac to Windows

Matt Heitker Jan 10, 2015 03:59PM PST

I currently run SplashMoney desktop on the Mac. I am retiring my mac soon, and will need to run SplashMoney on my new laptop (PC, win 8.1).

How do I move 7 years of data from the Mac to the PC, without losing anything?

Thanks for contacting us. The only way to transfer everything without losing anything is to sync with the mobile version of SplashMoney, then sync that back to the PC.

The databases are not PC-Mac interchangeable, so if you don’t sync with the mobile client, then your only option is to export each account to a QIF file, then import those on the PC. Please note that transfers will be lost in this case, as well as all payee, category and class lists. The transaction data will be there though.

It might be a good idea to just start fresh on the new PC, and keep the QIF export files for reference.
