SplashID Desktop Crashes after Sync

I have SplashID Safe Desktop (v7.2.4.760) on a Windows 7 64-bit desktop and sync to it from an iPhone5s (app version 7.2.5, build 796). Whenever I perform a sync from my iPhone the data transfers occur correctly, but the desktop app crashes afterwards with dialog boxes saying "SplashID Safe has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Of course the program closed when I click the "Close program button".

Any suggestions?

Thanks for contacting us. I would check the folder permissions on the SplashID data folder.

In File Explorer, go to:

\Documents\SplashData\SplashID\

Right click and select Properties.

Then clear out the Read Only box so it is empty. Then click Apply, and confirm.

See if that clears up the issue.

The above fix of removing the 'Read Only' attribute on my 64-bit version of Windows 7 doesn't work. After removing the 'Read Only' attribute it immediately comes back after clicking OK on my machine and my desktop version of SplashID Safe still crashes during sync.

I've uninstalled, manually deleted all directories, restarted and then installed again but that didn't help.

Any other tips?

Same problem here. Just upgraded to latest/greatest on my Windows 7 desktop and new iPhone. Sync works, but desktop app crashes immediately after. Obviously from the above this was last reported almost 1 year ago. Really there's no fix?
