Remembering a password

Jerry Porter Jun 04, 2014 09:12PM PDT

A couple of years ago I bought two SplashID Safes - one for me and one for my bookkeeper. I entered a password and then put the safe away and forgot about it (and my password). Now two years later I would like to activate it but have no idea what I used as a password. I do not see any place on the SplashID ads to write to them to see what I need to do to reactivate my key. Can anyone help?

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for contacting us. You just need to reset the local database. Assuming you’re on Windows:

First locate and rename the SplashID Data folder:

1) open the file explorer
2) browse to Documents\SplashData\SplashID\
3) click the folder name, to make it editable, and add .old to the end, so it’s SplashID.old

Then launch the SplashID Desktop again, and go through the guided setup.
