I recently upgraded to the cloud-version of SplachID Safe. So my Mac, my iPad and my iPhone are all synced now. But I still like to use the (off line) desktop version of SplachID Safe.
Is there an easy way to sync the data in the cloud with my data on my desktop Mac?

Thanks for contacting us. I would recommend enabling the internet on the desktop Mac as well so cloud sync can happen, but if that is not possible, you could copy the database from on Mac to the other. You can either do this on the local network, or by copying it to a removable disk and transferring it that way. The SplashID 7 database is stored here:

~/Library/Containers/com.splashdata.splashidmac/

Another option is to switch to Local WiFi Sync temporarily, and do a WiFi sync with one of the devices. Then you can switch back to SplashID Cloud Services.

How do I backup my SplashID Safe to cloud services? And how would I restore if I had to when I am not close to my laptop.

If you use SplashID Cloud Services, your data is always backed up to our cloud, so when you login on a new computer or device, it will automatically fetch that data from the cloud.

Synchronization (or you could call it backup) happens every time you login to the app and when you add/edit/delete a record.

I attempted your suggestion to change to "wifi only" on my iPad v7 to sync with my desktop v6.2. When I set the selection to wifi only on my iPad a message window came up stating that my cloud account would be cancelled and all my records deleted! I want to sync my desktop via wifi only and my mobile devices on the cloud. How can I do this?

Your account has to either be in WiFi sync mode or cloud sync mode. You can switch back and forth whenever you like, but you can’t have it both ways at the same time.

I’m not sure why you would want your desktop to sync via WiFi but your devices to sync via cloud. They all sync together via cloud and that’s the most convenient option. And it is secure.
