how do you import the records from an older version
Thanks for contacting us. We have our own encrypted file format – vID – which allows you to set a password on backup or export data. This has been available since very early on in the history of SplashID.
So you just need to go to File menu > Export > SplashID vID, set the file save location (eg. Desktop), and set a password. Then you can import that file into any equal or newer version of SplashID.
What version of SplashID are you trying to import into? What version from?
If you are importing a very old VID file, it can give you problems due to format changes over the years. If you are using version 7 of SplashID Desktop, try the Import > vID 3 option.
