Update for next iOS?

Michelle Jun 06, 2017 12:13AM PDT

When/will you be updating Splash shopper so it is compatible with the next iOS update? I keep getting the message on my iPhone that it will not work on the next up update.

Thanks for contacting us.
Please note we are aware of the issue – when iOS 11 comes, likely this fall, SplashShopper iOS app will stop working, unless we fix it until then.
No decision has been made on this for now. We can let you know once a decision is made, one way or another.
Please note you are not the only person asking about this, so we will certainly note your interest.
For us to be able to notify you, please also submit a support case for this, here:

Please note you can keep using the iOS app just fine for now, as iOS 11 is at least several months away.

Please tell me if you need anything else, or have any other questions or comments.

Please do update SplashShopper to be compatible with iOS 11. SplashShopper, while not necessarily the most dramatic or visually stunning, is by far the most customizable and useful list making app that I have used... and I have spent much on many. I have been using SplashData products since the days of Palm Pilot and would sincerely miss them. Thank you.

Please do update Splash Shopper! I also use your apps since Palm Pilot days and could not find any better list manager.

If SplashShopper isn't upgraded by the time iOS 11 is out I won't be upgrading to it. I would even pay money for an iOS 11-compatible version. Like many people I've been using it since I had a Palm Treo, which is over ten years, and it just seems to be the best shopping list manager out there.

Really glad (and relieved!) that SplashShopper iOS app will be upgraded for the upcoming iOS 11. It's the best list management app available. I'm surprised it's not better promoted by the developers.

That's excellent news!

Like the others here, I've used it since Palm days, and haven't found anything better for my purposes, despite recent research.

The only niggling bug I encounter is when opening a list it defaults to Needed items (which is what I've set it to) but the selector button is set to All. Tapping Needed, All, Needed brings everything back in sync.

Like many other users I have been using SplashShopper for more that 10 years.
This is a great app. The simple idea that each item can have a single category and multiple stores associated with it, seems unique to the application and very powerful. I am unable to find replacement to it.

Please keep the SplashShopper alive.

I am sure you have your reason not to invest anymore in SplashShopper, but for its users it is really a tough situation.

if you do not want to invest in the product any more, as a curtasy to your long term loyal customers you could at least to spell it out and , hopefully, suggest alternative app(s).

I'M HAPPY AS I FOUND THE ANSWER I WANTED THAT YOU WILL UPDATE SHOPPER. I'LL IMPATIENTLY WAIT. ;)

I've used SplashShopper and SplashID for over 15 years starting with a Palm.
I now have life time license for SplashID.
I quit syncing Shopper with my desktop when I ended up with 3.2 on iPhone and 3.1 on desktop and it no longer worked.

I actually tried to use the iPad version and I think that is when Shopper sync quit working. I'm now getting the popup on my iPhone that says SplashShopper ver. 3.2 will quit working under iOS 11.

I have exported and emailed a copy of Grocery list to myself. It is the only list I use in Shopper. I'd LOVE to be able to sync Shopper desktop with both iPhone and iPad like I do for SplashID.

Hello, Maxine! Thanks for contacting us.
Our 3.1 Desktop app works fine. And can sync fine with both 3.2 iPhone app, and 4.0 iPhone app.
Do you use a Windows PC, or Mac? On PC, 3.1 Desktop app is latest. On Mac, 3.2 is latest.
I can help you sync.

Are 32 bit apps going to be removed from the store? Will Apple kick Splash Shopper out of store until it is fixed?
Up 0 rated Down
Nikolai Filipov Sep 13, 2017 12:59PM PDT SplashData Inc Representative

Thanks for contacting us, Timothy!
No, please note they will not be removed.
You will just be not able to use the app on any iOS device that runs iOS 11.
When ran on devices with iOS 10.x or older, our iOS app will keep working.

Please! Please! Add support for iOS 11. I also have been using this app since the Palm days and have many dozens of lists with thousands of items. You have a loyal following who use SplashShopper as well as SplashID so please don't forget about or abandon us.

Thanks!!

Any word on when the update will be available? I am another user since the Palm days and although Splashshopper has been buggy and painful both on my iMac and iPhone in the last few years I can't find a better list manager.

Glad to hear an update is coming. What is frustrating is you have known about the iOS 11 update for months, but it wasn't until recently that developers began "looking at it" (per the 9/19 post). In addition to Splash ID & Splash Shopper, will there be an update for Birthdays?
Up 0 rated Down
Nikolai Filipov Sep 23, 2017 01:11AM PDT SplashData Inc Representative

Thanks for contacting us, Paul.
Please note our developers have been looking at this for at least 2-3 weeks now.
No, Birthdays iOS app will not be updated, so you must look for another app for this.
I hear there are some good free apps you can find in the App Store that can do the same thing.

Please tell me if you need anything else, or have any other questions or comments.

How about for those of us who have been loyal customers since the Palm days, give us a free download link for the iPad if we haven't yet updated to iOS 11???
Happy that an update is coming. NOT happy that I have no shopping/reminders lists until the update - when?

There is no free link. Please note out iPad app is a paid one:
SplashShopper – list organizer for iPad
Please also note this iPad app is really old, it may or may not work on your iPad.
Also, if you install this, you will not get your lists, just default ones.

Hello, Nancy!
No exact ETA yet fort has, but hopefully just weeks away and not months. I will ask again.

Please tell me if you need anything else, or have any other questions or comments.

I'm another "since Palm" user of SplashShopper, and like so many others, I'm waiting (almost) impatiently for the iOS 11 update. I am trying not to update my iPhone to iOS 11 until we get the update, but I have to take it to the Apple store to fix a hardware problem, and I'm nervous that they'll upgrade it without asking me. So PLEASE release the update ASAP! Thank you so much for keeping SplashShopper relevant for all of us.

Please do keep going with SplashShopper and update it to be compatible with iOS 11!!!

It is by far the most customizable and useful list making app that I have used. I have been using SplashData products since the days of Palm Pilot and would have a massive job to transfer all the accumulated data successfully to another app.

**I'D BE HAPPY TO PAY A SENSIBLE FEE FOR A GOOD UPDATE**

So when is this update happening. I am quite bothered that I cannot use it, being a busy shopper. I, too, have been using this since my old Palm days. I’ve stuck with it because it has my complete shopping list. If I switch to another app I won’t come back.

Anxiously awaiting the update! Please make it quick! Been using you since Palm Pilot and will be willing to pay reasonable fee for update.

Has anyone found a temporary solution until they figure out update?
Up 0 rated Down
OogieM Oct 17, 2017 09:47AM PDT
My temporary solution is not upgrade my iOS devices.

However, as I'm planning on a new iPhone in the next few months this is critical. I've been looking at all the other shopping apps. Most have lots of features I never use, things like aisle, or coupons or scanning bar codes or tracking prices.

The one thing SplashShopper has that no one else does is allowing me to put 1 item at several stores and when I select the store to look at it shows up. That is the only thing that is keeping me on SplashShopper.

My alternative will be to program my own simple SQLite DB that implements that and that alone. I've got it flowcharted already, won't start coding until I have to but it's still an option. If I do it will be open source.

My temporary solution is from the desktop app to export "Need" from a list as csv and save it to iCloud Drive/Numbers on the desktop. Open the Numbers app from the iPhone and select the csv file. Hint - delete the csv file from within the Numbers app on the iPhone when you are finished with it or you are going to replace it otherwise you will have multiple files on the numbers app.

Sorry SPLASHMONEY help desk. Stating that There’s good news that management has given approval to update SPLASHMONEY if possible” is not an answer!!

It’s been months ... do you have a release date? Are developers actively working on it? If you can’t answer these two simple questions then we can plan on not getting an upgrade and will begin looking for other solutions. You owe us that much!
