I have found elsewhere on the website that you don't plan to release Splash ID desktop for the Mac via the Mac App Store. Is this true? if so, may I strongly suggest that you reconsider this decision? Between the family and work I am "managing" more than a dozen Apple devices, only four of which are iOS, and the automatic updates from the App Store are the easy way to keep things in sync and up to date. The process for doing the v7 to v8 upgrade, with the caveat of exporting the datafile, removing an old copy of the desktop database, and then importing the data back in is going to be cumbersome to do on all the Mac minis and MacBooks.
Thanks for contacting us.
Sorry, we have decided not to release SplashID 8 on the Mac App Store at this time, as it created more complications and headaches than you can imagine when we did it for SplashID 7.
You may need to transfer your records to the regular version 8, but it is a one-time thing.
If you use our cloud sync service, you won’t even need to do that.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
