Use copy of SplashIDDatabase.sdb

Mac E Mar 14, 2015 07:47PM PDT

Is it possible to simply make a copy of the SplashIDDatabase.sdb file, with a different name, and later rename it back to SplashIDDatabase.sdb and open it with SplashID? It didn't seem to work when I tried it once but if it can be done then making a copy of it would be an alternate way to back up the data file, right?

Thanks for contacting us. Yes, that would be possible, but it would not include some dependent files. So it would be better to make a copy of the whole data folder:

Documents\SplashData\SplashID.8\

and rename that whatever you want (perhaps the date).
