Sync fails as SpashID picks up VMware connector IP address

George Parapadakis Feb 25, 2015 04:26PM PST

Trying to Sync iPhone to Desktop. Both are connected on 192.168.1.nnn addresses (WiFi and LAN, respectively). However, the Settings screen on the desktop, shows the IP address as, which is one of the VMware virtual Ethernet adapters on the desktop. Even when I try to manually enter the correct desktop IP on the iPhone, Sync still fails to connect. Any suggestions?

Thanks for contacting us. What version of SplashID are you using on the desktop?

If not version 8, please upgrade and see if that fixes it:

Version (I'm running it on Windows) does not fix this because you are not able to manually code the IP address into the desktop client. You have to manually disable the Ethernet adapters on your PC before starting up SplashID. I found this true on both version 7.2.4 and now on version 8.

Ok, thanks for reporting this. I will pass this along for our team to investigate.
