Is Splash Money going to be updated to iOS 8? I've lost the ability to access all my transactions on my device.

Removing it from the itunes store creates a major problem for current users who need to re-install.

This is true. Are you on iOS 7 or earlier? The problem is that we don’t want people buying it for iOS 8 and finding it doesn’t work well. I will enable it again temporarily. Please let me know when you have downloaded it.

I’m curious if the iOS 8.0.2 update has improved things for any of you? I updated and after force closing SplashMoney once, it seems to be behaving rather better, though I haven’t tested with much data yet.

Is there a way to at least access the data in the app and import it into the desktop version? It sure would be nice to at least have current info to work with while you guys decide whether or not to update the phone app.

If you force quit the app, then launch it, you may be able to sync it with the SplashMoney Desktop just fine.

I'm having the same freezing problem with splashmoney on my iPhone and the latest version of iOS8. I have not been syncing with a desktop version so my data is only on my phone. HELP. How can I get my data? I see you said something about force quitting the app. How do you force quit an app on the iPhone?

To force quit an app, double press the home button on your device to bring up the app switcher. Then select the SplashMoney screen or icon, and swipe up and off screen to quit it.

Hi Justin,

Force quitting and then restarting does not solve the issue as I've tried force quitting to rebooting my iPad to resetting and restoring my back up copies for the past 3 iterations. Nothing works, the app just hangs once I access it and I'm unable to access the "edit" or "tools" button no matter what I do. Any idea how I could get my past years finance data back?

I'm having a similar issue. If I try to delete a transaction on SplashMoney, it freezes and I have to force quit. I also am not able to complete a sync since SplashMoney freezes.

I have used SplashMoney and SplashID for many years. Now with iPhone6 SplashMoney freezes when I try the Delete and also the Balance. Have to restart. Will we all be informed about an update to is?

Just checking in to see if there is any word on an update for splashmoney for iOS 8. Like many others my main problem is that I can not delete or purge a transaction.

After updating my iPod Touch to iOS 8.0.2 a few weeks ago, SplashMoney worked OK. Today (october 26th, 2014) it suddenly freezes, and after several forced quits and reboots of my iPod it still does not work. SplashMoney still worked OK on the 25th of October. The only thing that has changed is daylight savings time. In Europe the clock was set back one hour in the night of 25-26 of october.

unable to sync with desktop, delete or purge transactions on ios 8.1 , app will freeze, app is also not optmised for iphone 6 & 6 plus. please fix and issue update asap

My splashmoney app 4.9.1 freezes and the only way I can recover is delete, loose all my data, reinstall and it freezes again.

Please post promptly once there is a fix for this. I have used this app for almost 5 years with no problems and I rely heavily on it.

My iPhone app is now 5.0.1 and I don't have the freeze issue, however now it won't sync with the desktop. It says my Mac Desktop version is up to date (4.9), but it says the data is synced and yet it isn't.

Thanks for contacting us. I think what is happening is that the iPhone is creating a new user in the SplashMoney Desktop. So it may appear that the desktop data is being overwritten, but I suspect it is still there under the older username.

To do this, switch to the old user in the SplashMoney Desktop, and export each and every account to a QIF file:

File menu > Export > QIF > All transactions

Repeat for each account.

Switch to the new user in the user menu.

Import each QIF file.

Now sync again.
