Splash ID would not sync and now crashes

I have been running Splash ID 7 on my Windows Surface tablet but today it would not sync and when I tried to change the sync settings to "don't sync" and then back to "cloud sync" to try to force it to sync, now it crashes when I log in. I can't download version 8 as it says it won't run on my platform.

Thanks for contacting us. Are you referring to the Windows 8 “metro” app? If so, we have discontinued that version. You should install the SplashID 8 desktop app, if your Surface is capable of running those:
