SplashID Data File

WinPro Mar 05, 2015 06:58PM PST

I find the following folders in my Yosemite

~/Library/Containers/com.splashdata.splashidmac
~/Library/Containers/com.splashdata.splashidsafe

The first one should be created by SplashID Safe download from you web

Is the second one created by the SplashID Safe from Mac Apps Store?

I also find there is a SplashID Safe folder in Applications. What's the purpose of this folder as there is data file create in hidden path. Is it created by previous version? Is it safe to remove it?

Thanks for contacting us.

Correct, the second one is from the Mac App Store version.

We didn’t have a choice about where to store the data – Apple requires us to store the data in the hidden Library folder. It’s inconvenient, to say the least, that this folder is hidden.
