P Billard Mar 03, 2015 06:16PM PST

Since upgrading to v8 I've lost the ability to backup locally (I don't wish to sync or backup to the cloud). Why can't I????

Thanks for contacting us. You can manually export a backup anytime you wish:

App menu > Export

But also if you are a WiFi or No sync user, an automatic backup will be made on exit once a day here:

But you have to set up the backup option in Settings. It's not set by default on install.

The auto-backup option should be turned on by default, assuming your sync method is set to WiFi sync or No sync.

Hi Justin, I'm not seeing such a directory (Documents\SplashData)
I am using wifi sync only.
Nor can I see an auto backup setting anywhere

If you are on Mac, it’s here:

~/Library/Containers/com.splashdata.splashidmac/Data/Library/SplashID Safe/Backup/
