default category and type for added records

S Feb 28, 2015 07:47PM PST

In (Mac desktop) version 8, when I click "add record", the new record always defaults to a category and type that I don't like. How do I change the default category and type for new records? (The web version behaves differently, but does not seem to have a default setting either.)

The ios version 8, as well as desktop version 7, seem to default to "personal" category and "web login" type, but I don't know why.

IT seems like you did nto do much testing on version 8. It i sibilantly buggy. I have the same issue this guy has . ALWAYS defaults to WEB LOG IN as the category and worse yet when you do choose the right category you want then it defaults to NO or UNFILED category. I will NOT upgrade to Version 8 until you get things FIXED. Hard to believe you would release such an obvious bug.

Hi John,

That issue with losing the type assignment on save was not reproduced by QA at first, but now we can reproduce it and we’ll be fixing it in the next build.

The defaulting to Web Logins type is not a bug, however, that is by design as this is the most commonly used type.
