Splashshopper crashes on sync

Rich Coutinho Jan 19, 2015 01:23PM PST

I'm recently updated from the palm version of SS (which has worked flawlessly for years) to the android version of the product. I was so looking forward to import my existing shopping lists and be ready to go. So it begins...

I'm running Windows 8.1, SS Desktop v3.1.0.0, SS android v3.1.2.

I exported my .vsh files from my previous desktop version (2.6.2) and imported them into the new version. I setup a desktop overwrites Handheld sync which does one of the following:
1. deletes all items on the android device.
2. crashes on execution with the windows error "Shopper Desktop Application has stopped working" and forces you to close the program.
3. runs successfully.

Can you help me figure out what's going on and restore my faith is SS?

Also, on the previous version, I had setup items as MULTIPLE assigned to multiple stores. When I checked one of these items, it would be applied to all stores. This no longer seems to function either. Has something changed?

Please Help !!!!

Thanks for contacting us. Do you have very large lists? A massive amount of data could lead to some instability during sync.

I would try doing a sync without setting it to desktop overwrites handheld. That is not needed unless you want to overwrite changes on the handheld data.

I figured it out. I had to import the old data into an existing list item. it still bombs in 1 out of 10 syncs, but no data is lost.
