To use or disable 2-Factor Authentication for your SplashID Safe account, please login to your SplashID Safe account using the Web app HERE.
Note: We recommend using the Web client via your PC/Mac (or Linux/Chromebook computer) web browser and not mobile device browser.
Under Account --> 2-factor authentication, please select one of the 2 possible Enabled options or choose Disabled, then click Save button in case you chose 2-factor by SMS. Please note you can choose 2-factor by email, or by phone SMS to your phone number - you cannot use both at the same time:
Once 2-factor is enabled, if you or someone else attempts to log in to your SplashID Safe account from a new web browser, desktop, tablet or phone, you will be required to enter a 6-digit code, which is emailed to your SplashID Safe account email address or sent to your mobile phone via SMS. Once you enter the second factor code, you should never be asked for the code again on that web browser or device. If you want to authorize access on another new browser or device, you will need another second factor authorization code sent.
Note #2: If you changed your phone number but did not change the phone number for your 2-factor codes, you will need to login to an already logged in Web app of yours (on your PC/Mac), then update your phone number to new one per above. If you cannot login to Web app at all to change your phone number, please ask us for help with disabling your 2-factor from our side via the links below.
If you want your PC/Mac or mobile device to ask for the 2-factor code again, you can logout of PC/Mac Desktop apps then relogin, or for mobile app, delete the app, reload it from App Store/Play Store, relogin.
